Discover What is 10 Times More Powerful Than a Good Headline

I am really happy now because my efforts on writing the headline above have finally paid off!

Most e-books and reports on headline generation are incomplete and rehashed information. Many of them are nothing more than a pile of out-dated theories that get no results. In a nutshell, they tell you to apply one formula and get a miraculous money-making headline! They all miss what a headline really is.

Here is why…

Basically, a headline is a sentence that attracts reader’s attention. Right?

But everyone uses headlines and no one really stands out of the crowd though. That’s why you need a ‘good’ headline. So you apply one of those ‘miraculous formulas’ and you come up with a good headline. In that case, you can force prospects to ignore your competitors’ headlines and read yours! Great.

But as you can see. People are smart. Most of marketers use those formulas just as you do now. Just when you thought you would made a start, you are back where you begin.

You definitely need something that beats any good headline out there. You need a ‘proven’ headline!

I won’t waste your time here. So, I will get to the point and tell you about my “make or break” secret to choosing effective titles. I have discovered this technique through my 4 years of writing on the web. Here it is:

Headlines which shift your focus, will also do the same with your customers -Period.

And here is exactly how I apply it to my copywriting…

First, I brainstorm a series of simple lines using the obvious mechanical components like:

1. Use one of these formulas (but not necessary!):

The “How to…” formula:

How to become _____

How to earn _____

How to get _____

How to improve your _____

How to win _____

I will give you a classic that has proven to be successful: “How to Win Friends and Influence People”.

2. Use benefits not features:
You have certainly heard about this before. And yes, it also applies to headlines. For example:
Headline #1: “How to Send Your Article to Hundreds of Editors”
Headline #2: “How to Get Your Article Published by Dozens of Editors”

Personally, I prefer the second headline because it is much more interesting. Don’t you think?

3. Use power words into your headline:
A power word can really entice people to action. I maintain a list of power words I use from time to time. Here are a few:

Automatic, Bonus, Easy, Exclusive, Free, Guarantee, New…

The important thing is place one or two of these power words so that the headline becomes stronger. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t say you stuff the title with these words! Use them only if they do really apply to your ad copy.

Well, try to compile a list of three up to five ‘raw’ headlines from what you have learned so far. But wait, do not publish them; not yet. Before that, you need to select the most appealing title. The one that will drive most visitors attention. How can you do that?

Simple. Just read all your headlines out loud and ‘zero-in’ the one that makes you take action… The one that leaves you wanting more.

I call this, the proven headline.

In fact, this is the title that can almost guarantee that readers will notice it. How do I know that?

Very simple. I believe that your qualified audience will always be attracted by the same things you are interested in. If one sentence can have such an effect on you, it will do the same on your targeted audience. It is as simple as that. And it works!

Don’t worry if you cannot seem to come up with the proven headline on your own. I still have a fantastic solution for you at the end of this article!

With that said, I have to tell you about a phenomenon that is spreading around the internet. I am talking about software automation. And especially, headline generation software. I have been building software for the Internet business since 2002, so I know how these bots work.

People love these programs because they are easy to use. I can understand that. But do they know that the headlines generated that way are not gauranteed. To simplify to the extreme, these programs adapt well-known headline formulas to your business -no more than that. The drawback is the lack of updates. In fact, theorical templates that once worked well, don’t pull anything today.

So if you plan to invest buckets of cash on one of these programs, ask for regular updates (that should be free of charge). Otherwise, you are throwing your hard-earned money in unprofitable advertising and rehashed information.

Another popular alternative is testing your headlines. Yes, the same old ‘trial-and-error’ cycle. You know… placing a headline, checking out your web log stats weekly to figure out the click-through rate. Then comparing it with the previous headline results and repeating the whole process over and over again…

Please, don’t get me wrong, the headline testing is fine. There is nothing wrong with this concept. But it is too difficult to set up and maintain. Actually, I know of no marketer who enjoys doing that. I mean, who has the time (and nerves!) to place, check, track, compare, refine, replace again week after week…

Unless you have plenty of hours a day to spend in front of your computer. Or you are well paid for doing that!

As an online marketer (merchant or affiliate), you cannot afford to explode your marketing budget on testing like $Million companies do. In fact, if there is one secret on success online, it could be this: “Get the best from your money and time”.

It is all a return-on-investment game. If you have $45 to spend in marketing your online business then make a ‘$45′ marketing plan. Otherwise, you are heading to bankruptcy sooner or later! And remember, you are running a business instead of just a hobby.

Don’t make the mistakes we have made; it has taken me 4 years to discover this real good method. My advice is let people test and adapt what really works to your own needs; that’s just good business!

The Ultimate Skiing Experience

Powder snow provides downhill skiers the ultimate skiing
experience. For most skiers however, good “powder” is a
short-lived and infrequent pleasure. Ski areas in some
geographic areas enjoy frequent “powder days” but in most areas,
powder is rare and the dryness and depth of snow is often
marginal.

In most ski areas too, when powder does occur, it is only a
matter of hours before it is completely “tracked out”, lumped up
and beaten down. Only those few early birds that ride the first
chairs in the morning get the ultimate run of the day, in deep,
consistent, smooth, untracked snow. Oh joy!

For years, avid “powder hounds” have headed for the backcountry
to ski the powder among remote alpine peaks, far from crowded
ski areas. Many enjoy the peace and quiet of ski touring and
move and ski at a pace governed by their own physical fitness
and endurance. Ski touring enthusiasts tend to be young and fit,
very experienced and knowledgeable in backcountry travel. They
are well equipped and self-contained.

Others who may be less fit or have limited time, but enjoy
fairly “deep pockets”, have skied the backcountry from
helicopters. For about $1000 per day, heli-operators offer small
proficient groups guided skiing on huge pristine slopes, high in
the mountains. Guests stay in comfortable lodges and spend their
days being shuttled back and forth with their guides, with each
run on a fresh untracked slope. Helicopters are very expensive
and must be kept flying. Many operators will share one machine
among multiple skiing groups. Helicopter skiing has its
“issues”. There are “down days” when storms make flying
impossible, there is the economic need for efficiency and there
is always the inherent risk of all backcountry skiing: avalanche.

Avalanche risk depends on many factors and much special training
and experience is needed to assess risk. All reputable
backcountry operators provide highly qualified guides to
accompany their guests. Guides choose areas for skiing and a
safe route down the hill. On days of poor weather or unstable
snow, guides may avoid alpine areas and restrict their groups to
“skiing the trees”.

Tree skiing is a fixture of all mechanized backcountry skiing
and is even preferred by some skiers to the more open “alpine”
skiing. Tree skiers often enjoy the deepest and lightest snow,
unaffected by wind or sun.

In recent years, a new type of mechanized backcountry ski
operator has emerged. Snowcat skiing operators use snowcats to
transport skiers and snowboarders into high backcountry regions.
Snowcats are fitted with comfortable cabs that usually seat 12
clients and two guides.

Of course, snowcats are much slower than helicopters. They are
also much less expensive and guests can expect to pay between
$500 and $600 a day, including transportation, lodging, meals,
and guiding. As slow as snowcats may be, most clients will wear
themselves out every day and get just as much skiing as their
group can handle.

The great advantage of cat skiing is that “down” days almost
never occur. Clients ski every day and bad weather can often
mean extra-good snow. Cat skiing is more relaxed and “laid back”
than heli skiing as there is no need to share equipment between
groups or to maximize equipment usage. Cat skiing is very
“client-friendly”. Each group has a dedicated machine and it
moves at the group’s pleasure. Weaker skiers can be at ease and
not feel “pushed”.

Snowcats provide a relatively quiet, relaxed environment in
which the trip back up the hill can be almost as much fun as the
run down. Guests sit in soft individual seats. They can
“unbutton”, dry out, warm up, converse, share bad jokes and
browse on sandwiches, cookies, cake and drinks. If a guest gets
tired, it’s easy to “sit out” a run and ride down to the next
pickup with the cat driver.

Helicopter skiing is much less restricted geographically than
snowcat skiing. This permits greater opportunity to find “great
snow”. However, there is a drawback. Since they can operate in a
much larger area, heli-operators may sometimes be less familiar
with changing snow conditions and risk factors than snowcat
operators who work in a more restricted area. Snowcat operators
make greater use of a smaller area and get to know it very well.
Snowcat operators have easy access their terrain by snowmobile
and can implement snow testing and slope stabilization measures
that are much more difficult and expensive for heli-operators.

Most snowcat operators have ample terrain to consistently
provide clients with good snow conditions, even in periods of
drought, and to ensure that clients exhaust themselves every
day. Chatter Creek Mountain Lodges Ltd. operates in a 130 sq. km
area and ski between the elevations of 4900ft and 9500 ft.
Monashee Powder Adventures (Tsuius) advertises an area of 66 sq.
km and operates between the elevations of 7800 ft and 3,000 ft.
Baldface Lodge uses over 140 sq km. Guests need not worry about
running out of terrain!

Snowcat skiing provides a wonderful holiday for intermediate and
advanced skiers alike. Individuals, family groups, groups of
friends, business associates can have a “trip to remember”.
Operators with remote lodges offer a real “backcountry”
experience, usually with good food and very comfortable
accommodations.

terrain photos from Chatter Creek. Refer to the Cat Skiing Articles photo gallery

Embracing The Late Wife

EMBRACING THE LATE WIFE

In the beginning of our relationship, my husband actually felt
comfortable

telling me about his late wife. There was an aura of mystery
about her,

mostly because I had not known her prior to her death. To sate
my curiosity,

I just wanted to know the answers to a few basic questions, and
my husband

was more than willing to oblige me. We were still in that
“getting to know

you” stage of newfound love, so he had nothing to lose by
sharing some basic

background information with me about her - the “non-intimate
details” of his

late wife, such as where she attended school, what job she held
prior to her

death, the cause of her death, etc.

So, for that time being, I was satisfied with just knowing the
basics.

Soon after marrying him, however, knowing more about her became
an

addiction that needed satisfying and a hunger to be sated.

The Obsession to Know Her

I remember exactly when the obsession took shape. During the
first

week of our marriage, I found a folder in his old filing
cabinet, and in it

were signed papers for an adoption process. Apparently,
unbeknownst to

me, he and his late wife had actually attempted to become the
adoptive

parents of a child. I looked at the date, and was saddened to
see that the

papers were filed in between the time she discovered she had
cancer and her

actual death.

Perhaps this meant that she regretted not having any biological
children

of her own with him, and now wanted to share parenthood with him
before

she passed away, leaving a legacy of herself behind.

Whatever her reasons, I was taken aback. Previously, my
husband’s late

wife had been, in my nave mind, just another woman from his
past. Prior

to this discovery, I had only received a simple biography or
factual resume of

her life - nothing to substantiate anything more meaningful or
intimate. But

now, with this new information, she became much more than that.

It was as if I had been in denial - an “ignorance is bliss”
sort of

reasoning - since the beginning. But now, all at once, I looked
upon her with

my heart instead of only my mind. And the realization hit me
like a ton of

bricks - she was, at one time, a living, breathing, valuable
human being. She

was a woman, with emotions, needs, and desires, just like me.
And this real

person was one flesh with my husband! In one split second, she
went from a

sheet of useless data to a real person, and I wanted to know
her…intimately.

It’s been said that the best way to defeat an enemy is to know
him, or in

this case, her. And at that time, I suddenly felt more
threatened by her than I

had ever felt by anyone else in my life. She became, in my mind,
“the other

woman”. She had not only shared a past with my husband, but a
bed, a

home, a life, her dreams, her body, and eventually, her illness
and death.

That made her special, beloved, and unique…especially to him.

Ugh! I had never really thought about it that way before! She
was so

much easier for me to deal with when I thought of her as a
one-dimensional

non-entity with non-specific details to describe her non-life!
Sure, there were

enough pictures of her to validate that she did at one time walk
this earth and

fill space…but now, I had to swallow the painful truth that she
did more than

that.

So, with my obsession pumping me with energy, I went straight
to the

source - my husband - armed with enough intimate questions as my
arsenal to

slay the beast that threatened the security and priority I had
always thought I

held in my husband’s heart. It must have been the fire in my
eyes as I

pummeled him with my ammo - questions - that made him put up his
shield,

but he closed up tight, built a wall, and refused to play my
game.

He would not share with me her faults! He would not paint a
picture for

me of their day to day life as man and wife! He would not regale
me with

amusing anecdotes of her personality! He refused to succumb to
my ploy to

bleed him dry of information pertaining to what made her
special, what made

her real, what made her…loved by him.

Oh my God, I anguished…it’s worse than I thought! This evasion
was

proof - he loved her more than he loved me! He thinks she was
perfect! And

he’s holding her up on some unattainable pedestal, where she
will forever sit,

canonized and sainted by him, every day of his life! I will
never be Number

One in his heart!

Fighting A Losing Battle With Fear

I thought my marriage was doomed. How could I share his heart
with

another woman? And how could he want to marry me in the first
place if I

meant less than she did to him?

For a year, I managed to depressingly drag my way through my
marriage,

day to day, while still holding onto the anger, and hating his
late wife more

and more. I used up so much energy doing this that I was
exhausted all the

time. My self-esteem plummeted. I dreaded his touch, for fear he
would

think comparisons…”My late wife was much softer”…”My late wife
was a

much better lover”…”My late wife….” etc., ad nauseum.

I just couldn’t take it any more, and seriously considered
divorce as the

only alternative, since there was no way I was going to spend
the rest of my

life with a man who split his love between me and a ghost. But
leaving him

would mean she had WON, and I wasn’t about to let her take him
from me

completely! There had to be a better way! I wanted validation of
my fears

and feelings.

Finally, I arranged for a session with a psychologist who was
also a grief

counselor. After sobbing my story to him, he asked me if I would
do a

simple exercise…write a letter to the late wife as if she could
read it herself.

I came very close to quitting therapy before I finally gave this
idea a chance.

“Dear Late Wife…”

But a week later, with pen and paper in hand, I drove to the
cemetery and

sat by the late wife’s marker while I poured out my heart.
Amazingly,

though, once I started writing to her as if she were sitting
right next to me, a

funny thing happened. My anger faded away, and was replaced by
sorrowful

compassion. This is what I wrote:

“….I wish I could meet you. I would have liked to have known

the kind of woman my husband chose the first time around. I’d
like to think

that because of our mutual love for him, we might have been good
friends.

And oh, I would have had so many questions to ask you! What
strengths

do we have in common? What fears do we share? What was it about
our

husband that first attracted you? What was it about him that you
loved so

much? How did he propose to you? How was your sex life? Too
personal?

OK, sorry….but it DOES cross my mind from time to time!

Do you know how guilty I feel sometimes, just knowing that I

am here only because you are not - that I am living the life
that you could

have, had you not died? Your death also left so many fears for
me…will I

ever be #1 in my husband’s heart? Will I always live in your
shadow? Will

your memory and the ghost of you always be in the back of his
heart,

overshadowing anything good he may feel for me? Will he always
hold you

up so high on that damned pedestal that I can’t get near it? Do
you know

how much I envy you? You were the “first”, and nothing will ever
change

that. I will always be just the “second”.

I know it all sounds selfish. You didn’t ASK to die, and you

didn’t want to, either. I know our husband wishes he could have
spared you

the excruciating pain you endured with cancer. I’m so sorry that
you were

too young to die. You had so much more life ahead of you, so
much more

love to share. He loved you so. But since you did die, he had to
move on. I

hope you don’t hold that against him. I’m sure that if you loved
him as you

did, you would want him to be happy.

And he is happy, really. We have a baby now. Did you get to

hold her in Heaven before she was born? Did you feel a part of
our husband

when you kissed her sweet face? I want that to be a nice memory
for you. I’m

sorry you didn’t have children. Our husband is such a great
daddy, and

for him, the sun rises and sets on his daughter. I know you
would want that

for him.

Thank you for helping to make him who he is today, the man I

love and adore. I know you had something to do with that in the
short time

you had together.”

Cleansing My Soul

When I had finished, I felt relieved. The burden of all the
rage I had felt

was instantaneously lifted from my shoulders. I cried for hours.
It was as if I

had been grieving her loss myself. I felt almost a sisterhood
with her, and

started to feel guilty about having hated her. I didn’t hate
her. I hated me.

But now, I loved us both.

When my next session with the psychologist came, I gave the
letter to

him to read. This wise, wonderful advisor looked at me with
sympathetic

eyes, and asked, “So, how does it feel to have
forgiven…yourself?”

Myself? Hmm…I hadn’t thought of it that way. But he was right.

Instead of forgiving the late wife for all the things I had
accused her of and

all the things I had conjured up in my insecure mind, I came to
accept that

since she was the innocent party, it was me who needed
forgiveness, and

only me who could grant it.

Consciously, I knew that the insecurities I had plagued myself
with were

based on hypothetical and illogical reasoning. But
subconsciously, I couldn’t

help it. I wanted someone to blame for making me feel so
insecure. I blamed

her, when I really should have taken more responsibility for my
negative

feelings in the first place.

I suppose I will always wonder about the life my husband shared
with his

late wife, and I’m sure I will always be curious about the
person she was.

It’s no longer an obsession that lives to spite her, but more of
a quiet

reflection of a woman who shares my husband’s heart. It has
taken time, but

since I have become the master of my own feelings about the past
and made

my peace with it (AND with the late wife), my life with and
marriage to a

widower has become much easier. Embracing the late wife is
relatively easy if you can humbly give credit

where credit is due, since the late wife was a perfectly
valuable person,

worthy of love and compassion. Forgiving yourself is the first
step in healing

the guilt you may bear for having blamed her for feeling rage or
hatred. The

next step is to remember that, even if you never hear a
disparaging word

about her, the late wife was not a saint. The seemingly flawless
windmills

you tilt at are only those in your mind. Embracing her only
means accepting

her for who and what she was, faults and all, including what she
gave to your

husband. But most of all, embracing the late wife means
accepting that you

two will be forever linked not by jealousy or a sense of
competition but by

the love you both share(d) with your husband.

Weight Loss, Body Detox and Anti Aging are all Connected

The majority of people that try various diets and exercise to lose weight fail. Why? Because they are missing out on the most important reason that they can’t lose the weight or how to prevent the diet yoyo. The standard line you get is that you need to diet and exercise to get results, and for some people, especially the younger generation, this works. But for a huge number of the population this is just not going to work, try as they may.

The missing factor in a successful weight loss program is the cleansing of your colon. If you are not familiar with colon cleansing then this may sound like an odd statement to make. But, consider this; a backed up colon will not only prevent weight loss, but will also cause a whole host of other symptoms such as:

- Always tired and sluggish
- Interrupted sleep
- Weight gain
- Aches and pains
- Premature wrinkling of the skin
- Unexplained skin rashes
- Constipation or diarrhea
- Bloating and gas
- Menstrual cramping
- Headaches

These are only some of the symptoms of a clogged toxic colon. What does this have to do with weight loss?

In a normally functioning colon, the food we ingest gets broken down, nutrients are absorbed in the small and large intestine, the friendly flora produce b-vitamins and nutrients are sent to the rest of the body where all the cells are fed. This normal function produces the hormones we need and keeps the metabolism high and allows for weight management. The problem with today’s environment is that it is toxic from all the chemicals, pesticides and pollutants we are bombarded with on a constant basis.

Another huge factor is mans craving to change things all the time and that includes food. In the name of profit, the food industry is reinventing food and changing them from their natural wholesome form and adding preservatives, dyes and coloring which dramatically alter the foods we eat. It creates great profit, and the shareholders are happy, but this is at the expense of our health.

All you need to do is look around you at Americans and the answer is there for all to see. We are an obese, tired nation. Foods such as white flour, rice, pastas, dairy products, hormone filled meats and sliced meats full of sodium nitrates and processed food wreak havoc with our digestive system.

The food we eat should be digested and eliminated in 2 to 3 days, but with processed food it can take 5 to 6 days.

Undigested food starts clogging in your large intestine making it difficult for it to absorb the nutrients you need. As you get further backed up this material becomes toxic and hard making it very difficult to eliminate. You could literally have 4 to 20 pounds of old fecal matter and a narrowing of the passage so that future eliminations become difficult and constipation sets in.

When you eat the typical American diet you may feel full but may be starving for real nutrients. If the diet remains poor, the intestines remain clogged and the body becomes desperate to eliminate toxic buildup. It put tremendous stress on the liver and kidneys and can even manifest itself by trying to get rid of toxins through the skin and odd unexplained rashes appear. Premature wrinkling can occur and metabolism slows making it difficult to lose weight.

If you want to lose weight, get healthy, look and feel better, then do a good colon cleanse first. Take care of the toxic build up and you may feel like a million bucks. You’ll then lose weight, and if you eat the right foods, drink a lot of water and exercise; you should be able to reach your goal. (It would not hurt to follow with a liver and kidney cleanse)!

“A frequent, chronological publication of personal thoughts and web links.”

In simple terms, a blog is a web site, where you write content on an ongoing basis. As you add content to your blog, new posts are automatically positioned on top of previous posts, so your visitors can see “what’s new.” Then they can comment on it or link to it or e-mail you if they choose to do so.

A blog can be a personal diary. A daily pulpit. A collaborative space. A political soapbox. A breaking-news outlet. A collection of links. Your own private thoughts.

Your blog is whatever you want it to be. There are millions of them, in all shapes and sizes, and there are no real rules.

Next, what’s RSS? “RSS” stands for Really Simple Syndication. RSS is a standard for publishing regular updates to web-based content. Using this standard, web publishers provide updates, such as the latest news headlines or weblog postings.

Consumers use RSS reader applications, or one of a growing number of online services to collect and monitor their favorite feeds in one place. RSS content from a publisher, viewed in one of these readers, is often called a “feed.”

For consumers, RSS makes it possible to review a large number of sites in a short amount of time.

For publishers, RSS allows instant widespread distribution of content updates to consumers.

And here’s the most exciting part: You can actually have your own blog up and running in less than 10 minutes, and you can create an RSS feed in about the same amount of time–plus, have your site indexed and crawled by Yahoo within 24 hours.

The Sort Of Blog Referrals And Mentions That Will Open The Floodgates For You

For centuries marketers have known and respected the power of referral marketing. The truth is that it is referral marketing that really lifts a product to sensational success.

This is why entrepreneurs have always tried to use a wide range of different techniques to trigger off massive referrals. They have done this with the full understanding that with a useful product or service, one needs only a small spark to ignite the flame and power of referral marketing and open the floodgates of orders.

The web is a natural when it comes to referral marketing and blogs are the ultimate referral marketing tool. They have actually become the sensation they are today through linking to one another (if linking is not referral marketing, I don’t know what referral marketing is.)

Online Evidence of The Power Of Referrals

Proof of the efficacy of referral marketing on the net is easy to find. This is one of the reasons why it is easier to make money from being an affiliate online than by starting your own brand new business. It is of course much more convincing for you to point folks to another site (send them referrals) than it is trying to sing your own praises.

Since the early days of Amazon.com, affiliate programs have taken off in a hurry to become the multi-million dollar online industry they are today.

Offline the same truth of the power of referral marketing has held true for centuries. This is why Public Relations and mentions in the media still get you a much higher response than an advertisement.

Blogs - The Ultimate Referral Tools

Enter blogs and marketers have in their arsenal a weapon like no other that they have handled previously. Blogs are a referral tool and an advertising medium rolled into one.

For instance by simply getting a writer to launch an independent blog on a popular subject related to your product or service, you can end up with huge targeted traffic and a source that generates a steady flow of hot sales leads for your enterprise.

Blogging Techniques That Will Open The Flood Gates For You

Building up traffic to a new blog is not too difficult and there are various ways of doing this, which can be used separately or combined. You can get one or two major blogs or sites related to your blog topic to link to you, or you can use carefully selected keywords targeting popular but less-competitive search terms.

How to Buy T-shirts at Wholesale Prices

There really is no great mystery with regards to buying t-shirts at wholesale prices. It is also worth bearing in mind that the companies manufacturing, importing, or stocking large numbers of t-shirts do actually want to sell them, it’s simply a matter of finding one that considers it worthwhile selling this merchandise at the volume you require.

Up and down the supply chain

You need to enter the supply chain at the right level: too high and they won’t supply you. This is not because they are unhelpful, but because it’s not worth their while to split open a box and sell single t-shirts, they sell boxes of them (they are actually in the “selling boxes of stuff” business). Too low and you will be paying a premium for t-shirts you could have got for less.

It is easier to go to the top of the supply chain and work your way down than it is to start at the bottom and work your way up. Here’s an example: you need some t-shirts for an event or a printing job, maybe 19, in the same style, same color, and different sizes. You go to the yellow pages and look for t-shirt suppliers, no luck; you find a t-shirt printer and give them a call. They don’t have the t-shirts in stock but can order them and have them to you by the end of the week. If this is your one-and-only ever t-shirt order, then this particular route is going to be straight forward - you pay a premium and get the t-shirts.

But if you expect to buy more t-shirts in the future you can look at it this way; they didn’t have them in stock and have made a special order, maybe they ordered extra to make up the numbers, maybe they didn’t. The chances are you could have ordered them yourself from the company that is supplying them. Now try asking them who their supplier is. If they are smart they will offer you an unbranded catalogue (from their supplier) with their own company name stamped on it and a price list. If they are really smart they will offer you a discount on any t-shirts you buy plus a special deal on printing.

They are unlikely to simply hand over the details of their wholesale supplier to you, and this doesn’t seem unreasonable. You are at best a customer that simply wants to save some money and at worst, an emerging competitor.

Wholesale t-shirts the easy way

This is how I found my supplier. It may not seem the most logical, but it was the most effective at finding a supplier at my level and I encountered virtually no resistance. You start at the top of the supply chain and work your way down.

When you think of big t-shirt names who do you think of… Fruit of the Loom, Hanes, Gildan, Anvil, Screen Stars?

I decided on Fruit of the Loom, and went to their website, looking for wholesale information — nothing there. Their site (not surprisingly) is retail focused, they sell most of their merchandise through retail outlets, with nothing printed on them. (But you’ve seen people wearing printed Fruit of the Loom t-shirts haven’t you, of course you have, so have I).

I searched in google and found a phone number for Fruit of the Loom (www.jfar.org) and phoned their office in the USA (I am based in the UK).

The people there were extremely helpful and gave me the UK number, which I phoned. I explained the kind of numbers I was looking for but they couldn’t help me because they only sold boxes (72 pieces in each box, one size, one color) and sold a minimum of 1,000 pieces (gulp!).

They gave me the number of someone they supplied, I called them. Now, they sold only single boxes, this was still more than I needed. They gave me the number of another company whom I called.

Now, this company sells single t-shirts, with volume discounts, has no minimum order and sent me an awesome catalogue with a huge range of ready to print apparel (not just t-shirts), from several different brands including Gildan.

I have ordered from this particular company several times and have been very happy with the price and the service.

With a small amount of research and a few phone calls you can find your ideal t-shirt wholesaler. It pays to start at the top and work your way down. Companies really have no reason to be unhelpful as they are forwarding your business on to someone they supply, and you get the quantities you want at a fair price.

Notes and Resources:

When you go to www.jfar.org, scroll to the bottom of the page to the link “Corporate Company List” here you can navigate to company details.

Gildan Activewear who don’t have a retail presence as far as I know, have a website that lists suppliers by country. This may be useful, again it is worth mentioning that the suppliers listed are likely to stock more than just the Gildan brand.

A Spoonful of Sugar a Day - Can it Keep the Doctor Away?

‘Sugar’ might as well be a four-letter word the way science and pseudo-science has demonized it over the years. The nemesis of dieters everywhere, sugar has become the scapegoat for obesity as well as a number of other diseases and conditions. People have been told by nutritionists that carbohydrates are bad, sugar is bad, and now there seems to be a Diet version of practically everything on the market. But is sugar really as evil as everyone thinks it is?

A scientific field called glycoscience and/or glycobiology disagrees with much of the popular opinion about sugar, and not just regarding weight loss. There is an ever-increasing amount of research that suggests certain types of sugars can have an enormous benefit to our health, including boosting human immune response, to inhibiting cancerous tumor growth.

‘Glyco’ is derived from the Greek word ’sweet’ and refers to monosaccharides or sugars. For decades, Scientists have known about the link between sugars, carbohydrates and their effect in boosting energy. It’s no secret that carbs and sugars are our main source of fuel, and help us perform our everyday tasks, as well as provide the oomph we need to hit the ol’ stairclimber. But especially since the popularity of the Atkins diet which demonizes carbs and sugars, many people have been missing out on the benefits of the sweet stuff.

Glycoscience is amassing more and more evidence that the role of carbs is crucial to maintaining the healthy function of the body. Most people are familiar with the term ‘glucose’ but there are over 200 monosaccharides found in plants and, of those, less than ten are used by the body to maintain a healthy equilibrium. Some other sugars are: mannose, galactose, xylose, fucose, N-acetylglucosamine, N-acetylgalactosamine, and sialic acid (N-acetylneuraminic acid or NANA).

Recent scientific evidence is showing that these sugars and carbs help us on a cellular level. They allow our cells to better interact with each other, thus making every basic bodily function more efficient and effective. This cellular response from carbs flies in the face of the fad low-carb diets that are finally beginning to wan. What was formerly a no-carb or low-carb mentality really should be a “right-carb” mentality. With the right carbs and sugars, the human body becomes a well-oiled machine that can live longer, and more importantly live better than ever before.

Human beings, from a purely biological standpoint, have not really changed in thousands of years. We are still basically the same beings that survived on mainly plants for millennia. And yet the food we eat today is a far cry from the food we ate thousands of years ago or even as much as 50 years ago. Genetic engineering, growth hormones, and preservatives are now an integral part of almost everything we eat. Especially with fast food, and enormous portion of the population eats foods that are virtually bereft of nutrients. Empty calories are on the diets of millions of people every single day.

Now although most people would agree with that statement, most of them would heartily disagree that sugar and carbs are the answer to many of the health questions plaguing our modern society. Well surprise everybody…sugar might be the way to go. Again though, they have to be the right sugars; the monosaccharides found in plants, not the table sugar you find in your local grocery store.

So the question remains, where do we get these beneficial sugars? Simple. The company is called Mannatech. Publicly traded on the NASDAQ, Mannatech’s main product is something called Ambrotose®, and most recently, Advanced Ambrotose. This product has been heralded by many in the scientific community as the next big thing in the multi-billion dollar supplement industry.

When you see how many diseases are preventable simply by an alteration in diet and taking proper supplements, it’s heartbreaking to see the thousands that are unaware of the damage they are doing to themselves by rigorously maintaining their strict low-carb regimes. People hear this…CARBS ARE GOOD…as long as they are the right carbs and sugars. This point has to be made again and again until people start listening and taking charge if their own well-being.

The basics of cash flow

Understanding cash flow isn’t that hard when you put everything
in to perspective. Basically, you have two kinds of cash flow,
negative cash flow and positive cash flow. We will discuss both
kinds of cash flows.

Negative cash flow is what we class as money going out. For
example, if you have a bank account and money goes out of that
account to pay a specific bill or even for something else, that
would be negative cash flow.

Positive cash flow is what we class as money going in, or
income. So, if you have a bank account and you have a wage going
in each month from some form of a job that would be positive
cash flow.

People who are good with savings and earning money focus on
positive cash flow. These people stay ahead of the pack, so
while everyone is staying 50 - 50 with cash flow, these people
will focus on creating many income streams for positive cash
flow. This outweighs the negative cash flow such as bills or
even mortgages. Eventually you end up with many positive cash
flow streams so you make money and keep money. You have to work
smart to achieve something like this of course; however, you can
still do it with one income stream if you plan out your cash
flow sensibly.

One book we recommend reading which is all about cash flow and
how to begin the path of accumulating wealth is the book called
Rich Dad Poor Dad, this is an excellent read and is worth the
small cost for an excellent fundamental education on the
workings of cash flow.

Remember, if you are trying to create positive cash flow, try
and get rid of your debts. This way you can then start putting
money aside from your earnings after paying your survival bills
such as rent, utility bills etc. You could then invest this
income in to something else which creates more income. You could
keep doing this to create multiple positive income streams.

There are many ways you could do the above, you could look in to
the stock markets, you could build websites for extra income.
You could look in to high investment accounts, and you could
even look in to real estate. These are only a few; there are
many ways to create positive income streams if you really want
to achieve this.
