Ofcom Credit Bill Monitor Comparison Site

A new Web-based service has been launched, to allow consumers to compare mobile phone companies tariffs; this is the first time the website like this has been accredited by Ofcom, the communications regulator. Users of this service will do well to think about how to recycle mobile phones too.

A rigorous independent audit was carried out by Ofcom before Bill Monitor was awarded its price accreditation scheme logo. The checks which were carried out by Ofcom column ensure that the information provided by Bill Monitor is accessible, accurate, transparent, comprehensive and up-to-date when given to customers.

Advanced statistics were used to evaluate the best known of price plans that were accessible to consumers across the five UK mobile operators; three, 02, orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone. Bill monitor’s team of mathematicians developed the comparison a new in conjunction with scientific advisers from Oxford University. The comparison engine shows consumers exactly how much they can say if they switch their phone plan or supplier.

All consumers have to do, is provided details of their current bills and the website then analyses them and provides any tailored recommendation.

Bill monitor will also analyse historical usage patterns of consumers mobile phone habits to predict the future usage, and it can also update the consumers on any money that they could save as and when the networks change the pricing plans.

Ofcom believe that over 57% of mobile users would be likely to use information such as that provided by Bill monitor if you’re available to through the cheapest member from supplier. They also found that 50% of consumers are much more likely to trust a price comparison website that has been accredited.
