Lithuania Holidays
Being of Lithuanian descent myself, I can’t resist talking about holidays in Lithuania. All of my grandparents came from there, and although I’ve never been there, I would love to go there myself someday.
I can honestly say that Lithuania holidays have got to be special. It is a beautiful country that is easy to travel in now that they are independent. The people are friendly and outgoing. The capitol, Vilnius should not be missed, and neither should the beautiful coastline. There are many things to do and see on Lithuania holidays.
A must is the city of Vilnius, my grandmother’s home town. There are many modern hotels, restaurants and entertainments to pick from. Visit Cathedral Square right in the heart of Vilnius. You can see the castle on top of Gediminas Hill right from the Square. There are courtyards, pubs and cafes to relax in, right among the winding streets.
Lithuania is famous for its spas, and has been for many centuries. Spa holidays are available in the most peaceful locations.
There is a 60-mile coastline in Lithuania. The most popular coastal town is Palanga. Nearby on the coast is Klaipeda and the quaint little village of Nida. Klaipeda is home to the only Marine Museum in the Baltics and it also has an aquarium with thousands of exhibits.
A visit to the lakes, hills and forests can’t be missed. This is where the true country Lithuanian people live. It is also where beautiful Aukstaitija National Park is located. Please include this part of the country in your Lithuania holiday.
